With countless years of experience and the most skilled woodworkers in the area, we strive for perfection in everything we do.

One of the main principles of CDC is a passion for custom woodworking. Our founder, Dr. William A. Hinson began restoring antique furniture while attending medical school at the University of Florida (UF). In the late 1980’s, Bill built his first personal residence where he constructed every window, door, cabinet, and all of the millwork. The rest is history. In 2004, CDC officially began offering custom cabinetry and millwork to homes on the Gulf Coast. Starting out solely as a “word-of-mouth” business, CDC primarily constructed cabinetry and architectural millwork for ultra high-end homes, creating a reputation for designing and building interiors that were otherwise non-existent in the area. Beginning in early 2014 CDC refocused its efforts to offer its products to a much broader audience and range, including high end commercial millwork projects. Today CDC serves clients in multiple states out of it’s 35 person, 30,000 square foot facility located in downtown Pensacola, Florida.

  • Matt Hinson

    President and CEO

Matt was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, and attended the University of Colorado in 2002. He graduated from CU in 2006 with a business degree and moved to Jacksonville. There he joined Piper Jaffray, a publicly traded investment banking firm based in Minneapolis, MN, where he raised over $2.5 Billion originating national tax-exempt bond issuances, and assisted in the creation of two private equity funds that actively purchase privately placed securities today.

Matt began woodworking at the age of 5 building cabinetry and millwork with his father for their home in Garcon Point. He also worked with Bill to complete 4 additional homes that they would call home. In 2014, he returned to Pensacola to work with his father and eventually takeover the business, growing it into what it is today. Matt continues to be involved with all aspects of the business and gets extra excited when new machinery or materials arrive.

  • Madison Schill

    Vice President

Madison is also a Pensacola native, who aside from completing a geography degree at FSU has always called Pensacola home. He was taking a summer off before pursuing an Urban Planning degree when he elevated himself to the Beverage Director of Great Southern Restaurant Group: this experience was a great launch point in managing people, products and processes. He began to rethink more school in favor of something different, and in 2018 he joined Matt here at CDC.

Woodworking has always been a passion of his since his youth where he grew up in a historic home around antique furniture, both things requiring constant maintenance. What was once practical turned into a serious hobby, and now is his profession. Here is he is able to combine his knowledge of woodworking techniques and materials, antiques, a passion for architecture and design, and a desire for things to run their best. When not at work, he can be found working on his 100+ year-old house or his wooden boats.

Shop Leaders

Warren oversees all architectural millwork production and installations. Despite taking charge of our largest millwork projects, Warren still manages to keep a watchful eye on all things around the shop. His attention to detail during installation is unmatched, and as he once said “I can hang the moon and you won’t see a nail hole”.

  • Steve Kreuscher

Steve is responsible for creating all of our custom moldings. Having gone to Molder School and been in the industry for over 40 years, Steve is an expert in his craft. Founder

  • William A. Hinson, M.D.

Bill Hinson is the founder of and advisor to CDC Woodworking. While he spends more time today fishing and working on his boat, he still assists in the design of certain projects and accounting items. Bill was born and raised in in Pensacola, Florida until attending the University of Florida in 1972. He completed his residency in the Department of Ophthalmology at UF in 1981, and began his surgical practice as a sole practitioner in Pensacola, in that same year. He continued to grow his practice, now known as Center for Sight, to 6 Ophthalmologist, and over 50 employees before retiring from his role as Managing Partner of the practice in 1999.

Bill began woodworking when he was 12 and restored antiques while attending UF. Upon his return to Pensacola, he completed construction of 5 of his personal residences, including all of the interior millwork and cabinetry. Because of his extensive experience with woodworking, he was frequently asked to do specialty woodworking projects out of his home shop. As a result, CDC Woodworking hired its first employee and began commercial operations in 2004. Since starting CDC, he has completed the design and overseen construction by the CDC staff of some of the finest kitchens and homes on the Gulf Coast.
